John is keenly interested in the inter-dependence between scientific and engineering developments and the sustainability and resilience of society and human civilisation. John is a regular contributor to, and web-master of CariSTEM, a regional NGO dedicated to promoting scientific and engineering education and providing pro bono engineering consultancy with public and private institutions in the Caribbean.
Along the same trajectory, John participates in disaster preparedness and management seminars, courses and organisations.
Currently he is assisting to develop an online course for teaching fundamental coding concepts with Python and the Single Board Computer Raspberry PI. He is also working on an Arduino based IoT solution for a hydroponic farm in south Trinidad.
