Fortunately I have participated in almost every aspect from front-end specifications, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), commissioning, maintenance, programming, testing and upgrade of Fire and Gas Systems (FGS). I have worked with dedicated, proprietary FGS, and also with PLC and DCS based systems.
Design, specification and layout of fire or flame detectors, methane and H2S sensors, development of corrective and preventative maintenance and testing programmes.
While at Repsol, I pioneered three innovations: after integrating the PLC based FGS into the SCADA, I developed a management portal using Excel and the PI System, secondly I introduced e-mail notifications when FGS end detectors were placed in or removed from bypass, and thirdly I using the statistical tools in PI System to develop leading edge notifications for faulty sensors.
Do you want to be assured of the reliability and availability of your FGS?
Are you confident that your plant fire and gas detection and suppression system provides enough coverage?
